Sunny Deol Claims He Pioneered Vicky Kaushal’s Tauba Tauba Hook Step 30 Years Ago

Actor Sunny Deol recently stirred excitement by claiming he did the now-famous hook step from Vicky Kaushal’s “Tauba Tauba” almost 30 years ago. Sharing an old clip from his film “Ajay” (1996) on Instagram, Sunny highlighted his dance with Karisma Kapoor to “Chhammak Chhallo,” set to the “Tauba Tauba” audio. He humorously captioned it, “When they say you can’t dance, and then you find you did it before anyone else did.”

Filmmaker Karan Johar re-shared Sunny’s post, exclaiming, “OMG!!!!!! He did it first!!!! Sunny sir,” with red heart emojis. This nostalgic revelation delighted fans and celebrities alike.

Vicky Kaushal’s dance in “Tauba Tauba” has garnered praise from stars like Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan. Vicky even danced at the sangeet ceremony of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, further boosting the song’s popularity.

“Tauba Tauba” is from the upcoming film “Bad Newz,” directed by Anand Tiwari and starring Vicky Kaushal, Tripti Dimri, and Ammy Virk. Set to release on July 19, the comedy-drama explores the complexities of heteropaternal superfecundation with humor and chaos. “Bad Newz” is co-produced by Anand Tiwari, Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Amritpal Singh Bindra, with a screenplay by Ishita Moitra and Tarun Dudeja.

The playful banter and nostalgic throwback have added to the anticipation for “Bad Newz,” highlighting Bollywood’s rich dance heritage.
