Born on June 28, 1953, Junior Balaiah carried forward his father’s name, TS Balaiah, as a moniker in the film industry. His acting career began with the 1975 film “Melnaattu Marumagal,” and from that point, he continued to deliver exceptional performances in supporting roles alongside some of Tamil cinema’s leading stars. His filmography is a testament to his versatility, featuring a diverse range of titles, including “Karagattakaran,” “Gopura Vasalile,” “Avatharam,” “Saattai,” “Winner,” “Kumki,” and “Thani Oruvan.”
In 2021, Junior Balaiah’s presence graced the film “Yennanga Sir Unga Sattam,” where he shared the screen with a talented ensemble cast, leaving yet another memorable mark on his cinematic journey.
The sorrowful news of Junior Balaiah’s passing was confirmed by his younger brother, Jai Balaiah Ganesh, who also mentioned the actor’s recent appearance in the Ajith Kumar-starrer “Nerkonda Paarvai.” He noted, “You all know him. He has acted in many films… he was even part of Ajith Kumar’s recent film (‘Nerkonda Paarvai’). He wasn’t well for a while now and has been taking rest.”
The final arrangements to bid farewell to Junior Balaiah are scheduled for Thursday evening, although the specifics of the funeral are yet to be disclosed.
