Lady Gaga is set to bring a unique interpretation to the iconic role of Harley Quinn in the highly anticipated Joker: Folie À Deux. Starring opposite Joaquin Phoenix, who reprises his Oscar-winning role as Arthur Fleck, Gaga’s portrayal promises to be a standout.
In an interview with Access Hollywood, Lady Gaga shared, “My version of Harley is mine and it’s very authentic to this movie and these characters.” She emphasized that her take on Harley Quinn is unlike anything she has done before, hinting at a fresh, nuanced portrayal.
The first teaser trailer, released by Warner Bros. last month, shows Harley confessing her admiration for Arthur and inciting him to break free from prison, setting the stage for a chaotic, musical journey.
Joining Gaga and Phoenix are Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lotte. Directed by Todd Phillips, who co-wrote the script with Scott Silver, the film builds on the success of the original *Joker* (2019), which grossed over a billion dollars and won two Academy Awards.
With a release date set for October 9, 2024, Joker: Folie À Deux is poised to be a major cinematic event, continuing the legacy of its predecessor while offering a fresh take on beloved characters.
