Kalki 2898 AD Enters ₹500 Crore Club in India

Kalki 2898 AD, the Prabhas-starrer, has made a significant mark at the box office, entering the prestigious ₹500 crore club in India. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the post-apocalyptic film, inspired by Hindu scriptures and set in the year 2898 AD, features an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani, and Kamal Haasan.

On its 11th day, Kalki 2898 AD earned an estimated ₹41.3 crore net in India, bringing its total domestic net collection to approximately ₹507 crore. This impressive figure includes earnings from multiple languages such as Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. According to Sacnilk, the film amassed ₹465.70 crore in its first 10 days across these languages.

The second Sunday, June 7, saw a notable increase in box office collections, with the film earning ₹22 crore in Hindi, ₹14 crore in Telugu, ₹3 crore in Tamil, ₹1.8 crore in Malayalam, and ₹0.5 crore in Kannada. The overall occupancy rates for the same day were impressive, with 65.90% in Telugu for 2D shows and 68.14% for 3D shows. Hindi 2D shows had a 48.01% occupancy, and 3D shows reached 54.53%. Tamil occupancy rates were slightly lower, with 36.41% for 2D and 37.83% for 3D shows. Kannada and Malayalam had 41.13% and 31.25% occupancy rates for 2D shows, respectively, with no data available for 3D screenings in these languages.

On a global scale, producer Vyjayanthi Movies announced that Kalki 2898 AD has crossed the ₹700 crore mark worldwide, cementing its status as a blockbuster hit. The film’s captivating storyline, stellar cast, and stunning visual effects have resonated with audiences, contributing to its massive success at the box office.
