Fahadh Faasil Declines Role in Rajinikanth’s Upcoming Film “Coolie” Due to Scheduling Conflicts

In an industry abuzz with anticipation, the latest whispers out of South Indian cinema suggest that Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil was in talks for a second consecutive project with the legendary Rajinikanth. This time, the role was for the film Coolie, directed by the acclaimed Lokesh Kanagaraj. The pair had recently wrapped up shooting for *Vettaiyan*, marking their first collaboration, and hopes were high for a continued partnership.

On Sunday morning, social media platforms were alight with rumours that Faasil had been offered a role in Coolie, a film already in production at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. Directed by Kanagaraj, who previously worked with Faasil in Kamal Haasan’s Vikram, the film is highly anticipated. However, exclusive sources revealed to the Hindustan Times that Faasil’s packed schedule forced him to decline the offer despite the director’s enthusiasm to cast him.

This news will disappoint fans who have appreciated Faasil’s nuanced performances in recent Tamil films. Faasil, who has a reputation for selecting diverse and challenging roles, is currently engaged with several other projects, leaving little room for additional commitments. In Vettaiyan, set for release on October 10, Faasil plays a comedic character, a departure from his typical villainous roles. Rajinikanth stars as a righteous cop, a role that has fans eagerly anticipating the on-screen chemistry between the two stars.
