Actor Suriya has announced his brother Karthi’s upcoming film “Meiyazhagan”, directed by Prem Kumar and starring Karthi alongside Arvind Swamy. Suriya shared two new posters on X (formerly Twitter) a day before Karthi’s birthday. One poster shows Karthi and Arvind riding a bicycle with a temple backdrop, and the other captures Karthi smiling at a bull.
Suriya expressed his admiration for Karthi’s dedication to quality cinema, tweeting, “@Karthi_Offl Happy bday! Always love it when you give back to make good cinema!!” Karthi explained the film’s title, saying, “#Meiyazhagan= Meiy+Azhagan. Beauty is always what’s in our hearts.”
“Meiyazhagan” marks Prem Kumar’s first film since the acclaimed “96”. The film features music by Govind Vasantha and focuses on narrative depth, foregoing a stunt master.
Suriya will also star in Siva’s “Kanguva”, featuring him as a fierce warrior, and make a cameo in Sudha Kongara’s “Sarfira”. Karthi will soon appear in “Vaa Vaathiyaare”, directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, alongside Krithi Shetty.
“Meiyazhagan” promises heartfelt storytelling with strong performances, making it a highly anticipated project from Suriya and Karthi.
