Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan is now facing legal consequences for his alleged derogatory remarks against co-star Trisha Krishnan. The National Commission for Women directed the Thousand Lights All-Women Police to register a case against Khan under Sections 354 A (sexual harassment) and 509 (outraging modesty) of the Indian Penal Code.
Despite the controversy, Mansoor Ali Khan held a press conference where he staunchly refused to apologize, defending his comments by drawing parallels with fictional violence scenes in cinema. He maintained that he did not say anything wrong and reiterated his respect for all actresses.
Trisha Krishnan announced her decision to avoid working with Mansoor in the future. Additionally, several prominent figures in the Tamil film industry, including Leo director Lokesh Kanagaraj, Chiranjeevi, Nithiin, and Chinmayi Sripada, condemned Mansoor for his derogatory remarks, emphasizing the need for respect and dignity in the industry.
The legal action against Mansoor Ali Khan highlights the growing intolerance for derogatory comments and underscores efforts to ensure a safe and respectful environment for women in the entertainment industry. The incident serves as a reminder of the industry’s collective commitment to holding individuals accountable for inappropriate behavior.
